Coyote bots 2018

Hello! We are the coyote bots we are in FLL and we want to share about our year at Lego League in our team. We have a good team and enjoyed learning about space and robotics. Our entire team goes to cottonwood valley charter school (CVCS). We are from the rural town of Socorro New Mexico. Our coach is Silver Sturgis and our teammates include, Robinson and Keller Ford, Nikki Plank, Connor Johnston, Saxon Sturgis, Johanne Hansen, and Kailyn Woods.

                                             Problem

Our problem is that people get both physically and emotionally weak. We worked hard to find a solution that works well for both problems that is both fun and simple. We also realized that our solution helped benefit people on earth and in space. Imagine you are stuck inside a house for a year with 4 other people. You would get tired of seeing them over and over again, well that’s what it’s like in space. You would feel depressed lonely and sad.  Imagine your spine stretching and your bones and muscles wasting away losing most of your strength.  Quick fact, one man that spent a year in space came “home” not even strong enough to through a box of matches!  It took another year for him to regain his full strength.  That’s what’s happening in space with astronauts.

Solution

We found a solution to both of our problems. Our solution for loneliness and depression is virtual reality (VR). We designed a game for VR called V-Pet. V-Pet is a game that is for astronauts. Astronauts create pets for the game, they can create any animal they want and they can choose how many animals they want. I bet you are wondering how they are going to play the game and not walk into walls? Well we can fix that, with a multi-directional treadmill! Also this solution benefits our health by exercise with the treadmill.  Astronauts need to exercise to make sure their healthy when they return to earth and so they’re not weak.  The treadmill helps muscles build in space with no gravity.

Thank you

Thank you for supporting our Lego league team (Cottonwood Coyote Bots).  We appreciate you reading this info.  Wish us luck for the FLL competition.
